Doraemon: Nobita's Little Star Wars 2021 Film Reveals Two New Members and Release Date

The staff of the Doraemon: Nobita's Little "Star Wars" 2021 anime film revealed on Tuesday that the film will now open on March 4, 2022 after a delay due to the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The staff also revealed two new guest cast members.

The newly announced cast includes:

Teruyuki Kagawa as Gilmore, who leads a coup to take down the alien Papi


Mayu Matsuoka as Piina, Papi's older sister, who is a new character for this movie remake
The orgiinal 1985 film of the same name will screen in selected theaters in Japan from November 23 to December 2.

The film was previously slated to open last March, but the staff delayed the film to spring.

Doraemon: Nobita's Little "Star Wars" 2021 is the 41st film in the Doraemon franchise. The film is a remake of the 1985 Doraemon film of the same title.

Story : One day, Nobita picks a small rocket from which a small-sized humanoid alien named Papi comes out. He comes to Earth from a planet name Pirika to escape its evil PCIA army. At first, Doraemon and his friends are confused by Papi's small size, but with the gadget "Small Light", they shrink and play together.

However, the whale-shaped battleship which was chasing Papi come to Earth and attack them. Papi blames himself for having involved everyone but, tries to fight against the PCIA army. In order to protect Papi and his planet, Doraemon and his friends travel to Pirika.


The Nintendo Switch game based on the anime film was also delayed to an unspecified date. The party game was originally scheduled to release last March alongside the film. The game's website currently does not list a release date.
